Cold Meat Industry began in 1987 as a promotional outlet for Scandinavian underground artists who were creating rich, evocative, dark, challenging music and who refused to compromise their vision . The sound was and still is cinematic, industrial, psychedelic, sometimes abrasive and elusive, surreal, intelligent, and humorous. CMI's artists concern themselves mainly with pushing the boundaries of tonal forms in music, working with traditional instruments, tapes, effects, synthesizers, and computers.
